Job Summary
The First Grade Teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy is responsible for creating a faith-filled, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, and spiritual growth of students. This role delivers instruction aligned with curriculum standards while integrating Catholic values and fostering a supportive classroom community at St. Louis Catholic Academy.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily instruction in core subject areas including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies in alignment with the curriculum at St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Develop lesson plans aligned with school curriculum, Archdiocesan expectations, and state standards implemented at St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom culture at St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Assess student progress through formal and informal methods and maintain accurate records in accordance with St. Louis Catholic Academy expectations
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students at St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Maintain a positive, organized, and safe classroom environment that reflects the mission of St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities at St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff at St. Louis Catholic Academy to enhance student learning
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events at St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Uphold all policies, procedures, and the Catholic mission of St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field (required)
- Valid teaching certification (required)
- Experience working with early elementary students preferred, ideally in a setting similar to St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to actively support the mission of St. Louis Catholic Academy
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Classroom-based position at St. Louis Catholic Academy with participation in school events and activities
- Requires standing, walking, and active engagement with young students throughout the day at St. Louis Catholic Academy
