Insight Global is seeking a Junior Firmware Test Engineer to join its Neuromodulation R&D organization. This individual will support the testing and verification of embedded firmware used in medical devices that help improve the lives of patients with neurological disorders. Working closely with firmware developers and cross-functional engineering teams, this person will validate device functionality, execute test plans, investigate defects, and help ensure products meet quality and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
- Execute firmware and system-level test cases for embedded medical devices
- Perform design verification testing and document results
- Identify, reproduce, and track software and firmware defects
- Assist with test procedure creation and maintenance
- Work directly with firmware engineers to troubleshoot issues
- Validate functionality of pulse generators, chargers, and related device components
- Review requirements and verify expected system behavior
- Support product releases through verification and validation activities
- Maintain detailed test documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 0-3 years of engineering, testing, or embedded systems experience
- Understanding of software testing principles
- Exposure to C programming or embedded systems through coursework, internships, or professional experience
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate findings effectively
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Experience with medical devices, hardware testing, or regulated environments is a plus
Nice-to-Haves
- Embedded C experience
- Exposure to microcontrollers or electronics
- Experience working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or logic analyzers
- Knowledge of verification & validation (V&V) practices
