Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a highly motivated Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager to join our growing Fire Protection team. This position is responsible for the design, coordination, and execution of fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, and specialty construction projects.

The successful candidate will create code-compliant fire protection system layouts using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK , perform hydraulic calculations, develop fabrication drawings and material lists, coordinate with project stakeholders, and support projects from design through installation. This role combines technical design expertise with project coordination responsibilities, making it ideal for an individual who enjoys solving complex challenges while collaborating with customers, contractors, and internal teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  Responsible for designing and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems

  Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications

  n

  Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups

  n

• n

  Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis

  n

• n

  Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction

  n

• n

  Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK

  n
n
• n

  Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying

  n
n
• n

  Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades

  n
n
• n

  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

n
• n

  Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience. Examples include: Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees

  n

• n

  Fire Protection design experience preferred.

  n

• n

  NICET certification preferred

  n
n
• n

  AutoCad, Revit, and/or Hydratec Experience preferred

  n

• n

  Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record

  n

• n

  Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills

• n

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $115,000/yr

Other Compensation: Bonus eligible
