At Gardiner, our Fire Alarm Technician plays an important role in keeping our customers and their spaces safe-while being part of a team that supports each other and takes pride in the work we do.
Essential Functions include the following: other duties may be assigned:
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems to support proper operation and alignment with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and system testing, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions
  • Provide on-site guidance to customers on system operation and life safety best practices
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams while serving as a technical resource
  • Partner with project managers and internal teams to support inspections, upgrades, and system modifications
  • Accurately document service activities, test results, and corrective actions in line with company expectations
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school coursework in electronics, fire protection, or a related field is a plus
  • 4 + years of experience
  • Extensive knowledge of programming
  • Willingness to obtain the appropriate State of Ohio fire alarm license
  • NICET or other relevant certifications are highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer specifications
  • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to read schematics, troubleshoot, and maintain systems
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
