Job Description
What this job involves: Join our team supporting mission-critical facilities where fire safety systems are essential to protecting lives and operations. As part of our Facilities Management team, this position is responsible for the maintenance, testing, and repair of fire alarm systems and life safety equipment to ensure compliance with local fire codes and building safety regulations.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Performing routine inspections and testing per NFPA standards and local fire codes
- Diagnosing and repairing system faults, ground faults, and communication errors
- Running fire alarm circuit wiring and terminating connections throughout facilities
- Maintaining detailed service records and compliance documentation
- Coordinating with fire marshals and inspectors during system evaluations
- Responding to emergency service calls to restore critical life safety systems
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of fire alarm systems experience
- Experience with major manufacturers (Simplex, Notifier, Edwards, Honeywell)
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes
- Experience with mass notification and emergency communication systems
- Familiarity with sprinkler system integration and fire pump controls
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and system drawings
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level II Fire Alarm Systems certification
- Technical certification in fire alarm systems
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial facilities
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and climbing
- Manual dexterity for fine electrical work
- On-call availability for emergency service calls
- Work in various environmental conditions (mechanical rooms, rooftops, basements)
