Finishing Operator 2nd Shift

Finishing Operator 2nd ShiftThis position is responsible for the processing and inspection of castings to insure they meet or exceed our customer requirements.Essential Functions:Inspects castings for defects per work instructions including external defects, excessive core fin or flash, burn-in sand, high ingate, etc.Operates grinders (i.e. hand and pedestal) in a safe manner by inspecting grinder for proper adjustment, cracks or chips in the wheel and overall working condition. The operator will report any problems to the facilitator.Places finished parts in designated shipping containers for shipment as specified by work instructions.Transfers containers and other material using a forklift as needed within compliance of relevant work instructions.When assigned to operate a forklift must complete daily inspection checklists as required.Operates weigh scale as needed.Operate shakeout including separating gates, risers, and castings.Maintains a clean and orderly work area.May be assigned other duties as needed.Experience Required:Machining experience with milling and turning experience preferredPrevious knowledge of foundry practices, principles, equipment, etc.

preferred.Basic knowledge of machining processes preferredEducation, Training & Skills:High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferredBasic math and blueprint reading experience preferredAdding, dividing, averages, etc. and ability to plot data points. Using charts to convert decimals and fractions.
