Financial Services Manager, TreasurerThe Financial Services Manager directs the financial services for Minnkota Power Cooperative, Inc. (Minnkota) and is responsible for the management of the department. This position is in charge of cash and investments, debt financings, accounts payable and receivable.

This position is also responsible for coordinating various duties associated with the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and other lenders.The pay range for this position begins at $131,026 per year. Appropriate compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, education, and any previous relevant experience.Essential ResponsibilitiesDepartmental Management ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the direction of departmental initiatives, goals and objectivesResponsible for providing support, direction and development of employees within their assigned department to achieve both short- and long-term initiativesSets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organizationOversee assigned cost center, budgeting, and expense accountingCash managementManage daily cash needsMonitor and approve borrowings on line of creditDevelop cash flow projectionsFinancings and InvestmentsRecommend borrowing and investment strategies/options to managementEvaluate short- and long-term financing needsEstablish and maintain relationships with bankers and lendersEvaluate financings proposalsAccounts payable and accounts receivableOversee accounts payable and supplier paymentsManage accounts receivable and cash receiptsOversee transportation accountingManage power billings and annual cost of serviceCoordination with RUSManage preparation of RUS loan applications and loan advance requestsManage drawing down of RUS loan fundsOversee development of construction work plan with Project Management Office (PMO)Manage bondable additions documentsOrganizational CompetenciesSafetyIntegrityTeamworkInnovationReliabilityJob CompetenciesApproachabilityComfort Around Higher ManagementDecision QualityDirecting OthersOrganizational AgilityGoals and ObjectivesAn employee filling this role is expected to meet changing and unique goals and objectives, as established by their supervisor, related to the broader area in which the employee is assigned.Job Qualification StandardsEducation and TrainingPosition requires a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or finance. A CPA license is desirable but not required.Must maintain a valid driver's license.ExperienceMinimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance field; supervisory experience is preferred5 years of experience in finance or treasury management preferredPhysical and Mental DemandsThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
