Financial Services Associate Attorney
A premier global law firm is seeking a Financial Services Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising banks, fintech companies, payment providers, lenders, financial institutions, and emerging financial services companies on sophisticated regulatory and compliance matters.
Compensation
$260,000 – $390,000+
Ideal Background
- 3–5 years of financial services regulatory experience gained at a sophisticated law firm, financial institution, government agency, or in-house legal department
- Experience advising clients regarding consumer and small business financial products and services , including payments, deposits, consumer lending, commercial lending, and credit products
- Experience counseling clients on alternative financial products , including earned wage access (EWA), merchant cash advances, factoring, buy now/pay later (BNPL), and other innovative lending arrangements
- Experience advising clients regarding federal and state financial services laws and regulations , including consumer protection, payments, lending, and banking compliance
- Experience working with banks, fintech companies, payment processors, marketplace lenders, and other financial services providers
- Experience preparing regulatory analyses, compliance policies, legal memoranda, product reviews, and regulatory guidance
- Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated regulatory matters while maintaining significant client interaction
- Excellent academic credentials
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
- DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
