Financial Reporting Section Manager

The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services seeks a Financial Reporting Section Manager to oversee the department's annual GAAP reporting processes and supervise the General Accounting and Technical Support Section. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating financial reporting operations in compliance with accounting standards, managing staff, and ensuring proper accounting controls and system interfaces. The ideal candidate has fiscal management experience in state government or similar organizations with strong management and leadership capabilities.

Key qualifications:

• Four years of college (preferably with courses in fiscal management, accounting, budgeting)
• Four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning, or public accounting
• CPA certification preferred
• Three years of governmental accounting and auditing experience preferred
• Three years of supervisory/management experience preferred
• Master's degree in business administration, finance, public administration, accounting, or economics preferred
