Spectrum Search Group has been retained by a publicly traded convenience retail company with over 450 locations across nine states, headquartered in the Fort Worth area. As a public company, they are building out their financial reporting function and seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to own the SEC reporting process and serve as a key technical accounting resource for the organization.

This role reports to the Corporate Controller and will have one direct report.

The Opportunity

  • Own the preparation of annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Q filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A — coordinating across departments to gather information, manage review cycles, and finalize support files
  • Maintain the annual and quarterly reporting timetable and track progress against all filing milestones
  • Manage accounting and reporting for leases, asset retirement obligations, stock-based compensation, and EPS
  • Monitor new and evolving SEC, FASB, and PCAOB guidance — perform technical accounting research and document complex accounting matters
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of company-wide accounting policies
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls across all assigned reporting areas

What They're Looking For

  • CPA required 3+ years of direct SEC reporting experience (10-K, 10-Q, footnotes, MD&A)
  • 5 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience overall
  • Combination of public accounting and private industry experience is the ideal profile — straight public or straight industry will also be considered
  • Deep technical GAAP knowledge with the ability to research and document complex accounting matters independently
  • Experience in consumer retail or a similarly complex, multi-unit environment is a strong plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

Why This Role

Highly visible role with direct access to the Corporate Controller and senior leadership. Broad technical scope — SEC reporting, lease accounting, stock comp, EPS, and policy development all under one seat. Opportunity to help shape the reporting function at a growing publicly traded company. Stable, well-capitalized platform with a strong national footprint and continued growth momentum.
