Position Overview:
Addition LLC is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the finance function across Addition and its two subsidiaries: The Pineapple Agency, the creative business, and The Juice Shop, the fabrication business. This leader will build and run a simple, scalable, and thorough finance operations that supports a growing, project-based business.
The right candidate is a hands-on finance leader who can create structure, improve visibility, and establish disciplined processes without adding unnecessary complexity. This person must be strong in project costing, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting, and should be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where speed, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration matter.
Industry background in creative services, fabrication, manufacturing, or construction can be helpful, but the most important qualification is demonstrated success building reliable finance processes in businesses with project-based economics. Familiarity with system implementation and creatively finding ways to automate time consuming tasks will also be valuable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the finance function for Addition LLC and its subsidiaries, including financial planning, accounting oversight, reporting, controls, and cash management.
- Build simple, scalable, and thorough finance processes that support current operations and future growth.
- Lead the project focused budget process and maintain rolling forecasts for the parent company and each subsidiary.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and improve close quality, speed, and consistency.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls, approval workflows, and financial policies.
- Design and manage project costing and job costing processes to improve visibility into labor, materials, outside services, overhead, and true project profitability.
- Partner with business leaders to improve estimating, pricing, scope control, margin management, and post-project financial review.
- Develop clear reporting on project performance, backlog, revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, and cash flow.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger accuracy.
- Support billing discipline, collections, vendor payment timing, and overall working capital management.
- Create financial dashboards and KPIs that help management make faster and better decisions.
- Partner with outside accountants, tax advisors, lenders, insurance providers, and other financial partners as needed.
- Evaluate and improve the company’s finance systems, tools, and reporting infrastructure.
- Hire, manage, and develop finance and accounting team members over time as the business grows.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on growth planning, investment decisions, organizational design, and risk management.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5 - 8 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility.
- Strong experience owning or materially improving core finance processes in a growing business.
- Deep experience with project costing, job costing, or contract-based profitability analysis.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Experience improving month-end close, controls, and reporting accuracy.
- Ability to work hands-on in a lean environment and personally drive execution.
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Experience in project-based businesses such as construction, fabrication, manufacturing, specialty services, experiential marketing, or creative production.
- Experience with multi-entity financial management and consolidated reporting.
- Experience implementing or upgrading ERP, accounting, job costing, or reporting systems.
- Experience supporting founder-led, entrepreneurial, or newly integrated businesses.
