The Director of Finance will lead the company's financial planning, reporting and performance management functions while helping build a more scalable and data-driven finance organization. A key priority will be improving forecasting, KPI visibility, profitability analysis, cash-flow management and executive reporting across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and long-range financial planning while providing the CEO and senior leadership with clear visibility into business performance, risks and opportunities.
- Lead a lean Finance and Accounting team, maintaining strong accounting, reporting, controls, audit, tax, banking and risk-management disciplines.
- Build profitability visibility across products, customers and channels, including wholesale, e-commerce, DTC and retail, analyzing revenue, COGS, gross margin, operating expenses and ROI.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on inventory valuation, product costing, purchasing, vendor terms, logistics, working capital and overall supply chain economics.
- Develop executive dashboards, KPIs and operating reports that translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations and faster decision-making.
- Optimize financial systems, automation and reporting processes to improve data integrity, efficiency and scalability.
- Manage key external relationships, including banking, insurance, accounting and legal providers.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including new business opportunities, channel expansion, capital expenditures and other investments.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior-level leadership as a Director of Finance, VP Finance, Controller or comparable role.
- Experience within consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail or another inventory-intensive environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a multi-channel business, ideally including wholesale, e-commerce/DTC and retail.
- Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and working-capital expertise.
- Deep understanding of inventory, product costing, COGS, gross margin, supply chain and purchasing economics.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear recommendations and measurable business actions.
- Experience improving financial systems, reporting processes and automation; Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
