This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, strong financial governance and full statutory and regulatory compliance within a stand-alone entity.Acting as the senior finance lead locally, the role partners closely with operational and regional leadership to provide high quality financial insight, support key business decisions and drive sustainable performance.The role plays a critical part in optimizing cash flow, strengthening funding processes and delivering operational efficiency across accounting, billing and transformation initiatives. In addition, the role leads and develops a local finance team, embeds a robust control environment and acts as a key interface with the global finance organization to ensure alignment with group standards, policies and transformation priorities.This is a high impact role combining technical accounting leadership, operational ownership and strategic business partnering within a dynamic international environment.This will be a hybrid position based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This role will be required to be in office 2-3 days per week, with the ability to work from home the remaining days.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & ControlLead full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for the Puerto Rico entity, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes in compliance with IFRS and company accounting policiesReview financial results, validate accuracy, and investigate material variances vs.
budget and forecastProvide clear financial insights and commentary to senior management to support decision-makingFinancial Governance & ComplianceOwn the trial balance and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworksEnsure compliance with U.S. and Puerto Rico statutory, regulatory, and tax requirementsOversee statutory reporting and all filings with the Puerto Rico Treasury Department (Departamento de Hacienda)Act as the primary contact for external and internal audits, ensuring:Timely completionStrong audit trailEffective risk managementCash Flow & FundingManage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital for Puerto Rico operationsOversee weekly funding requests and align funding with operational requirementsPartner with regional finance and leadership to forecast cash needs and optimize cash utilizationBilling & Revenue Process ManagementLead the end-to-end billing function, supervising the teamEnsure accurate and timely invoicing aligned with revenue recognition principlesDesign and implement standardized billing processesEstablish structured intercompany billing and cost allocation processes, improving transparency and reducing manual inefficienciesProcess Improvement & Systems EfficiencyIdentify and implement process improvements across accounting and billing and month-end close activitiesPartner with IT and shared services to optimize ERP and billing systems performanceDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materialsDrive automation, standardization, and control enhancements aligned with global finance initiativesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead and develop a local finance team (approx. 7 employees across accounting and billing)Set clear objectives, manage performance, and ensure accountabilityBuild capability through training, coaching, and succession planningFoster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvementStrategic Partnering & Stakeholder EngagementAct as a key finance business partner to Puerto Rico operationsCollaborate closely with operational leaders (e.g., Logistics Director) to provide financial insightsAlign with the Regional Financial Controller and broader finance organization to ensure consistency with group policies and strategyProactively identify financial risks and opportunities and support strategic initiatives such as:Budgeting and forecastingCapital projectsSystems implementationsEfficiency and transformation programsKnowledge, Skills & ExperienceQualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years' experience, including supervisory positions.Strong preference for top-tier audit background and multinational exposureDeep knowledge of Puerto Rico tax laws and filings with the Treasury DepartmentTechnically sound with IFRS or US GAAPExperience across statutory reporting, audit, intercompany and complianceERP systems experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skillsProven team leadership and ability to partner with senior stakeholdersHighly analytical, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused, with a strong control and continuous improvement mindsetHighly proficient written and verbal communication skills.Strong background in Microsoft Office.HH Global is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applications without regard to protected characteristics.
