Taking hands-on ownership of day-to-day accounting, the remote Financial Controller will manage full-cycle accounts payable, payroll operations, and tax compliance while supporting the month-end close in a proactive and resourceful manner. Key Responsibilities Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor onboarding, bill runs, and resolving invoice discrepancies Coordinate semi-monthly payroll processing and perform payroll reconciliations for month-end close Prepare and submit monthly multi-state sales tax filings and maintain compliance calendars for annual filings Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2-4 years of practical accounting experience Proactive mindset with a natural initiative to resolve routine operational roadblocks Good working knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting principles, and month-end close routines Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and strong Excel skills Exposure to tools like Avalara, PEO platforms, or subscription billing/CRM software
