Nexiya is seeking a motivated Financial Analyst: I with strong financial analytics & reporting experience. This individual will provide crucial support to our client who is a major utility company in their Alpine, California office location.

** Roles and Responsibilities: **

n
• Analyzes and reconciles accounts
n
• Prepares and annotates variance reports
n
• Works with operating plans to create supporting financial forecasts and budgets
n
• Performs research to understand the accounting consequences of alternative approaches
n
• Performs financial reporting for the client’s Integrity Management Program
n
• Sets up governance and internal controls for costs and expenditures
n
• Assists with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
n
• Assists with data and records management in SharePoint
n
• Ensures adherence to financial guidelines and standards.
n
• Reviews monthly report for complex order accounting per FERC guidelines to ensure O&M and capital costs are accurately allocated.
n
• Audits and approves vendor invoices for accuracy and SOX compliance.
n
• Prepares and processes journal entries in SAP.
n
• Corresponds with vendors to gather monthly accrual data, prepares proper accrual documentation, and submits to Accounts Payable.
n
• Audits data dashboard daily for order O&M costs that belong to capital per FERC guidelines.
n
• Supports cost recovery
n
• Perform other job duties as assigned
n

Education/Experience Requirements:

n
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent years of experience and education
n
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a financial analyst role, preferably with construction or utilities background
n
• Thorough knowledge of accounting, finance and compliance principles
n
• Experience presenting financial analysis to management
n
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel/Word and SharePoint software
n
• Working knowledge of popular financial management applications, SAP experience is a plus.
n
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision and with urgency
n
• Ability to work in a team environment
n
• Must be a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail
n
• Strong communication and writing skills
n
• Must be able to apply critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and organizational skills
n
• Must be able to successfully pass our background screening process
n
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the US
n
• Candidate must be able to commute to Alpine, California office. (4 days a week onsite, 1 day remote)

** Pay Range: **

Min: $26/hour
nMax: $33/hour
