Finance Analyst – Cost Accounting / Manufacturing

📍 Fairfield | Hybrid: Monday–Thursday Onsite, Friday WFH

📅 Contract: 3 Months + Potential Extension

Pay: $40-47/hr on W2

We are seeking a Finance Analyst to support plant finance and cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for an early-career finance professional with 2–3+ years of experience who has strong analytical skills and enjoys turning financial and operational data into meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze recurring plant financial reports, including WIP, inventory transactions, material usage variance, PPV, and Plant P&L

• Perform cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis

• Analyze period-over-period changes and explain key cost and inventory drivers

• Reconcile financial and operational data across multiple sources and identify discrepancies

• Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Master Data, and Finance teams

• Identify reporting anomalies and communicate findings to plant leadership

• Support month-end reporting and financial close activities

• Help improve and automate recurring financial reports and processes

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–3+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience preferred

• Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing/plant finance

• Understanding of standard costing, inventory, WIP, PPV, and material usage variances

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, lookups, and data analysis/modeling

• Experience working with ERP financial or inventory data

• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Oracle ERP experience

• Power BI and/or Power Query

• Engineer-to-order or project-based manufacturing experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish

Schedule Note: Candidates must be available to work approximately a half-day on Saturdays during month-end reporting periods.
