Financial Analyst

Location: 1010 Tavern Road, Alpine, CA - 91901 (onsite Monday-Thursday and remote on Friday) Duration: 12 Months Pay Range- $30-$35/hr

Job Description Primary Purpose

• Analyzes and reconciles accounts. Prepares and annotates variance reports.
• Role requires a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles, excellent verbal and written communication skill and the ability to present financial analysis to management.
• Must be proficient in the use of Excel/Word software and have a working knowledge of popular financial management applications.
• SAP experience a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures adherence to financial guidelines and standards.
• Reviews monthly report for complex order accounting per FERC guidelines to ensure O&M and capital costs are accurately allocated.
• Audits and approves vendor invoices for accuracy and SOX compliance.
• Prepares and processes journal entries in SAP.
• Corresponds with vendors to gather monthly accrual data, prepares proper accrual documentation, and submits to Accounts Payable.
• Audits data dashboard daily for order O&M costs that belong to capital per FERC guidelines.

Qualifications Education

• Requires 4-year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience

• Requires 2-5 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Required: Knowledge of accounting practices and compliance requirements.
• Required: Proficiency in Excel.
• Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skill and the ability to present financial analysis to management.
• Required: Strong team player.
