Financial Aid Assistant DirectorDirects the University's financial aid program to meet enrollment goals and establish best practices. Oversees the implementation and operational functionality of financial aid systems as well as data integrity, warehousing, and user training. Coordinates the budgeting and fiscal management of a variety of programs and all financial aid reporting, awarding, and disbursing activities.
Develops financial aid policies and procedures.Essential Functions:Oversees and provides financial aid services in the School of Medicine.Development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.Coordinate financial aid counseling services.Coordinate liaison relationship of department with related University personnel, and external agencies.Primary processor of federal, state, University grant and institutional and federal loans.Manage the coordination of the financial aid student complaint/appeal procedure.Oversee the development and implementation School of Medicine interface with University financial aid data systems.Supervise the system for collection and maintenance of all financial aid application materials and information.Develop and implement tracking procedures needed for various aid programs.Prepare projections of student needs, funding available, and student eligibility.Administer institutional aid programs as directed.Oversee all federal, state, and private loan and scholarship application processing.Ensure that financial aid services attain greatest effectiveness, efficiency, and maintain hospitable student services environment.Train financial aid staff.Assist assistant and associate deans as necessary.Physical Effort: The essential functions of the position are communications, and the incumbent must be able to use the telephone and computer. Normal business office, generally sedentary activities.
