The Finance Transformation Manager leads strategic initiatives that modernize finance operations, improve business processes, implement technology solutions, and enhance organizational effectiveness. This role oversees complex transformation programs, manages cross-functional project teams, and partners with executive leadership to develop scalable financial processes that support organizational growth.
The Finance Transformation Manager serves as a strategic advisor responsible for delivering sustainable process improvements, maximizing technology investments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the finance transformation roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on operational excellence, automation, and digital finance.
- Identify strategic opportunities to improve finance operations and organizational performance.
- Build business cases supporting transformation investments.
- Manage multiple concurrent transformation initiatives.
- Establish project governance, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project performance and ensure successful delivery.
- Report progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.
Process Optimization
- Lead redesign of end-to-end finance processes including Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Budget-to-Forecast, and Financial Planning.
- Implement standardized operating procedures and internal controls.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance functions.
- Lead ERP implementations, finance system upgrades, and digital transformation projects.
- Partner with IT to evaluate emerging technologies including automation, AI, workflow solutions, and analytics platforms.
- Oversee system integration and process optimization efforts.
- Ensure technology solutions support business objectives.
Data & Analytics
- Develop finance reporting strategies and KPI frameworks.
- Improve data governance, reporting accuracy, and business intelligence capabilities.
Leadership
- Lead cross-functional project teams consisting of finance, accounting, IT, operations, and external consultants.
- Mentor finance transformation analysts and senior team members.
- Foster collaboration and accountability across project teams.
- Build organizational capability for continuous improvement.
Change Management
- Lead communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and training initiatives.
- Ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Manage organizational readiness assessments.
Governance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain governance standards across transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- MBA preferred.
Experience
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in finance, consulting, business transformation, or project management.
- 3+ years leading enterprise transformation projects.
- Experience managing ERP implementations and finance technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and organizational change.
