If you have a passion for people, a desire to problem-solve, and eagerness to pursue continuous improvement opportunities… we look forward to exploring career possibilities with you!Job DescriptionThis role typically leads a team of 1-5 FTEs in the pursuit of consistent and effective financial and commercial oversight to a portfolio of remote operating sites governed by unique commercial agreements and varying customers.

This includes validation of month-end close, profit and loss analysis, balance sheet approvals, forecast and budget review, and identifying effective ad hoc financial analysis to control expenses and aid in the improvement of financial performance. This position collaborates with their team, including direct reports, operational sites and several functional departments to ensure the success of their portfolio in coordination with the larger Business Unit.ResponsibilitiesFinancial OversightReview month-end close for all sites within their remitsValidate the development of monthly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned sites; approve site submissions and provide feedbackEffectively communicate significant variances in performance against budget and forecast to senior leadership.Facilitate lessons learned discussions and document conclusions to leverage across portfolioOversee the training and development of site managers in sound commercial and financial processes.Manage the process/team that reviews working capital position, develop processes to effectively monitor customer financial conditionDevelop and confirm site targets in support of the business unit annual budgetPresent the monthly management reporting, including the trading document, corporate consolidation reporting, new business reporting, corporate commentary, to senior leadershipValidate accounting controls and policies are applied appropriatelyCertify balance sheet reconciliationsCommercial SupportCollaborates with Business Development and Operations teams in the development of commercial proposalsEnsures competitive pricing scenarios are provided to pursuit team, considering capital investment and financial hurdles, through management of team/processManage the approval process for all contract renewals and new business awardsActively influence ongoing decisions regarding site financial and commercial risksFinalize recommendations on capital expenditures for new business including financing method (buy vs. lease)Collaborate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Contract Administration and Operating teams to ensure that commercial and financial risks and exposures are highlightedOperational SupportDrive site start-ups for billing, labor tracking, capex approval, start-up spend and operational site budgetsMonitor progress of profit improvement plans for underperforming sites and determine next steps and recommendations to senior leadersImplement identified opportunities for improvement of site financial performance and over portfolioPeople ManagementProvide daily direction to team to effectively oversee a portfolio of remote sites governed by unique commercial agreementsAbility to influence and align operations and function support teams towards a goal of financial and commercial successBuild and maintain a positive relationship with your internal and external teamServe as an interface between site operations and other functional teams to ensure effective operational and commercial supportRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, economics, finance or accounting OR equivalent four years work experience, requiredMaster's degree and/or CP, preferred7+ years of work experience within the finance or accounting industry, requiredLogistics industry experience, preferredPublic accounting experience, preferredAbility to deal with complex commercial issues, requiredAdvanced analytical skills; draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations, requiredAdvanced accounting knowledge; P&L and balance sheet, requiredUnderstand, analyze and communicate key business driver to others, requiredAdvanced presentation skills, requiredLeadership and team management, requiredRisk management and mitigation, requiredOur Organization is an equal opportunity employer.DHL Supply Chain offers multiple benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Discounted Stock Purchase, General Bonus Plan and a generous PTO policy.
