About the Role

We're hiring a Finance Manager to lead our core accounting operations: general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Reporting to the VP Finance, you'll own the monthly close, financial reporting and the annual audit, and manage the people and processes behind them. This is a hands-on leadership role in a manufacturing business. You'll keep the books accurate today while building controls, systems and a team that scale as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger

  • Own the full-cycle general ledger: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and inventory accounting.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close on schedule, coordinating with Cost Accounting, FP&A and Operations.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, account analyses, variance commentary and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and GL integrity across subsidiaries or entities as applicable.
  • Serve as primary contact for the external audit, preparing PBC schedules and answering auditor requests.

Accounts Receivable

  • Lead the AR team across invoicing, cash application and collections.
  • Hold the team accountable for AR aging, DSO and credit policy, and reconcile AR to the GL monthly.

Accounts Payable

  • Lead the AP team across the procure-to-pay cycle, from vendor setup through payment runs.
  • Own payment controls and disbursement priorities, and reconcile AP to the GL monthly.

Leadership, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Supervise, train and develop the AR and AP team, and build and supervise GL staff as the company grows; set clear priorities, deadlines and performance expectations.
  • Design and enforce internal controls, including segregation of duties across GL, AR and AP.
  • Make the close faster, more accurate and more scalable through standardized checklists and reconciliations.
  • Lead automation of accounting workflows and support ERP, AP and expense technology improvements.
  • Support tax, sales and use tax, and other compliance and financial reporting requirements.
  • Take on ad hoc analyses and special projects for the VP Finance as the company grows.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years supervising accounting staff, ideally across GL, AR and AP.
  • Hands-on ownership of the month-end close and GL in a US GAAP environment.
  • Experience supporting external audits.

Preferred

  • CPA or CMA.
  • Experience with inventory, standard costing or cost accounting.
  • Experience implementing or upgrading an ERP or AP automation system.

Skills & Systems

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/accounting systems.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of finding and fixing discrepancies at the root.
  • Clear communicator who can explain numbers to non-finance partners in Operations and Sales.
  • Works independently, prioritizes competing deadlines and takes full ownership of processes and outcomes.

Why Join Us

  • Direct partnership with the VP Finance and visibility across the whole finance organization.
  • Real ownership of GL, AR and AP: build a team and processes that grow with the business, not just maintain what exists. xhqgsiq
  • Competitive pay: base salary and bonus designed to meet or exceed market levels for the role.
