This is a hybrid position requiring 3–4 days per week on-site in Brooklyn, reporting to the Finance Manager.### Role OverviewYou will oversee the organization's entire grants portfolio, managing financial systems, compliance, and reporting to ensure all funding sources are managed accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.### Key Responsibilities* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive financial systems for grants management* Process transactions accurately and timely across all grants* Monitor expenditures and verify alignment with approved budgets and funder requirements* Prepare journal entries, analyze ledger activity, and approve accounts payable vouchers* Create grant budgets, invoices, financial reports, and required schedules tailored to each funder's specifications* Analyze budget variances and provide financial recommendations to leadership* Ensure full compliance with federal, state, local, and private funding regulations* Collaborate with Development and program teams on budgeting, forecasting, and compliance matters* Support internal and external audits with comprehensive documentation and reconciliations* Train and mentor staff on grant management policies and best practices* Identify operational trends and recommend process improvements### Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field* Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience* At least 3 years of specialized experience in grants accounting and financial management* Demonstrated experience managing grants from NYC, New York State, federal, and private sources* Strong working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word* Expertise with accounting systems (Sage Intacct experience highly preferred)* Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills* Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in deadline-driven environments* Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural humility* Valid U.S. work authorization and successful background check clearance required### Apply for this roleApply on Company Website →Closes 30 August 2026
