The City of Bridgeton, Missouri is seeking candidates for the position of Finance Director. He/she shall hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, public/business administration, or a related field from an accredited university, and requires at least five years of experience in the field of municipal accounting, finance or a related field. Priority will be given to any candidate who has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO).
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting and payroll activities.
- Manage benefits.
- Prepare financial statements.
- Ensure budgetary compliance.
- Oversee internal controls.
- Execute the City's investment policy.
- Perform various other financial analysis projects including the preparation of materials for the annual budget and audit.
- Oversee the finance staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, public/business administration, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in municipal accounting, finance or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) preferred.
Salary and Benefits
Salary range is up to $132,454 (with future consideration of substantial range increase as part of compensation study recommendation). Starting salary is DOQ.
