Associate Director of Career Advising, Finance

Reporting to the Director of Career Advising and Undergraduate Programs, the Associate Director focuses on the Investment Banking and Finance field within Career Advising, providing group programming and individual advising that helps undergraduate students advance their careers through high‑quality job and internship placement. The role serves as an industry lead to promote exchange of career information and connections among students, alumni, faculty, and employers. Although specialized in finance, the Associate Director also competes as a generalist.

Essential Functions

  • Translate the PPD strategy into tangible student services—workshops, seminars, activities, and personalized advising—to foster student success, covering resume and cover letter review, career discernment, industry‑specific job search strategies, interview prep, networking, and negotiation.
  • Maintain industry currency on recruiting practices, employer needs, academic qualifications, certification requirements, current events, and trends in finance.
  • Participate actively in all avenues to positively affect recruiting outcomes, including corporate outreach, employer relations, and recruiting strategy sessions.
  • Conduct outreach to professionals and alumni to foster industry engagement, provide campus speakers, and enhance student and faculty experience.
  • Develop relationships with faculty and collaborate on curriculum integration to leverage industry connections for students’ job‑seeking.
  • Enhance the overall student experience by being visible and accessible, responding timely and personally to all concerns.
  • Update internship and job databases or spreadsheets used by the office.
  • Maintain accurate records of student meetings and workshop attendance in CRM and other systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years in investment banking and finance, either as a practitioner or in a corporate HR/recruiting role.
  • Understanding of translating business needs into student programming.
  • Collaboration and strong team orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support and value students.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including writing and public presentation.
  • Highest standards of personal and professional integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree.
  • Career advising experience.

Compensation

Minimum starting salary: $85,000
Maximum starting salary: $101,000
Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
