Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Field Test Engineer to perform field testing and validation of agricultural machinery and crop-harvesting equipment under real-world operating conditions. The ideal candidate will have practical experience operating farm equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and an interest in testing and troubleshooting agricultural machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, functional validation, and safety evaluations of agricultural equipment.
• Operate tractors, combines, and other agricultural machinery during field trials.
• Set up test equipment, prototypes, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Collect and analyze data related to speed, torque, vibration, hydraulic pressure, and sensor outputs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic system issues.
• Document test results, identify performance issues, and support root-cause investigations.
• Maintain and inspect prototype equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, farmers, and equipment dealers during field testing.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain confidentiality of prototype equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
• Hands-on experience operating agricultural machinery, such as tractors, combines, or harvesting equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools for equipment inspection and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of powertrain, hydraulics, vehicle electronics, or embedded systems.
• Ability to collect test data, document findings, and prepare technical reports.
• Willingness to work outdoors and travel to agricultural test locations as required..

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, field-based position involving outdoor testing of agricultural machinery in varying weather and terrain conditions. Candidates must be comfortable operating heavy equipment, working at remote test sites, and collaborating with engineering teams.

Ideal Candidate: Someone with an engineering degree and practical farm equipment operating experience, including experience gained through personal farming, who enjoys hands-on machinery testing and troubleshooting.
