Field Technology Engineer
Location: St. Louis-based with local project assignments and travel to project sites as needed.
Position Overview:
The Field Technology Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting construction technology solutions that improve project execution across PARIC's projects. This role partners with field operations, project management, VDC, surveying, and IT teams to deploy and optimize digital tools that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and collaboration throughout the construction lifecycle.
The Field Technology Engineer serves as the bridge between technology and construction, supporting everything from digital layout and BIM coordination to reality capture, field data collection, and connected jobsite technologies. This individual will help drive innovation by ensuring project teams have the tools, training, and support needed to successfully deliver projects.

Field Technology Engineer

Responsibilities
- Deploy and support construction technology solutions on active projects.
- Assist project teams with BIM, digital layout, reality capture, and field technology workflows.
- Support robotic total stations, GPS equipment, laser scanners, drones, and other field technology tools.
- Coordinate with VDC, surveying, project management, field operations, and IT teams to improve project execution.
- Troubleshoot construction technology hardware and software and provide technical support to field teams.
- Manage digital construction data and ensure project information is current and accessible.
- Support field verification, constructability reviews, and digital quality control processes.
- Train project teams on construction technology platforms, equipment, and best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Travel to project sites to support implementation, training, and ongoing technology initiatives.
- Demonstrate PARIC's Core Values through collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction technology, field engineering, BIM/VDC, surveying, or commercial construction.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and active construction environments.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, or similar BIM/VDC platforms.
- Experience with robotic layout equipment, laser scanning, drones, GPS technology, or reality capture.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Office, cloud collaboration platforms, and construction management software.
- Passion for emerging construction technologies and continuous improvement.
