How You'll Make a Difference
As a Technician, you'll be one of the people our customers count on when their equipment needs attention. You'll diagnose, service, and repair material handling equipment at customer locations and in our shop, making sure every job is completed safely and to manufacturer specifications.
You'll bring technical know-how, good judgment, and a customer-first mindset to every job while helping us maintain the standards Briggs has built its name on.
What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment, including engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive systems, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical, and lifting systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, failure analysis, component removal, and basic welding while following manufacturer specifications and proper safety procedures.
  • Keep work organized and customers informed by accurately documenting repairs, maintaining necessary parts and supplies, and keeping your company vehicle clean, stocked, and safe.
  • Live our Safety First culture by following Briggs procedures and applicable DOT, OSHA, federal, state, and local requirements while completing required technical training and supporting the broader service team.
What You'll Bring
  • A high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and 3+ years of forklift repair or related industry experience; mechanical or trade school training is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills, including experience with precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges; welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, knowledge of applicable equipment and operations, and certification on at least 65% of the Briggs Equipment product line; Hyster-Yale Maintenance, Service, or Master Bronze Technician certifications are preferred.
  • The ability to furnish your own tools, lift up to 75 pounds, and regularly stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift. This role also requires travel to customer sites, work in a shop environment, and participation in a 24/7 on-call schedule as needed.
