UES is seeking a Field Technician II to support construction materials testing, inspection, geotechnical, and engineering projects that help build the roads, schools, hospitals, bridges, and commercial developments our communities rely on every day. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, solving problems in the field, working outdoors, and being part of projects they can point to and say, "I helped build that."
As a Field Technician II, you'll work alongside engineers, project managers, contractors, and fellow technicians to perform testing and inspections that ensure construction projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. This is more than a testing role. It's an opportunity to develop technical expertise, earn industry certifications, gain real-world construction experience, and build a long-term career with opportunities for advancement into senior technician, field supervisor, project management, and leadership positions.
What You'll Do
- Perform field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials
- Conduct construction inspections and quality assurance activities on active job sites
- Document test results and prepare detailed project reports
- Work directly with contractors, engineers, and project teams to support project success
- Ensure testing and inspections are performed in accordance with industry standards and project specifications
- Operate testing equipment and maintain accurate project documentation
- Identify and communicate quality or safety concerns in the field
- Support a strong culture of safety on every project
- Assist with training and mentoring newer technicians as experience grows
What We're Looking For
- Experience in construction materials testing, inspections, construction, engineering, environmental services, or related industries
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
