Role Description
Overview
We're hiring an entry-level Field Technician I to support day-to-day telecom/site operations in a network facility environment. Under regular supervision, you'll help with site upkeep, materials handling, basic installs/decommissions, and assisting with network equipment maintenance and restoration activities.
What You'll Do

• Perform general site maintenance: keep areas clean, organized, and secure
• Support fiber and materials work (including removing/clearing old fiber and staging equipment)
• Manage and return leftover materials/assets to the warehouse
• Organize equipment for future deployments
• Escort/monitor customers to equipment locations as needed
• Assist with basic installation, provisioning, testing, and maintenance of network services/equipment
• Maintain tools/test sets and help track spares/repairs
• Document work and update records/tickets with accurate notes
• Participate in on-call rotation and overtime as needed (business-driven)

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year of relevant experience (telecom, network, or similar industry)
• Valid driver's license; comfortable working in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (climb, kneel, crawl, etc.)
• Basic PC skills (Windows + Microsoft Office); ability to learn internal systems quickly
• Ability to maintain site security and cleanliness

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience and/or education in Electronics or Telecommunications
• Exposure to one or more of the following areas:
  • Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET)
  • Switching (circuit-switching/SS7)
  • TCP/IP (routers / higher-layer protocols)
  • Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, splicing, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

Tools/Equipment
Required equipment includes basic tools and personal vehicle.
