Field SuperintendentThe Weitz Company is hiring a Field Superintendent to join our commercial construction team in West Palm Beach, FL. This role is responsible for the profitable supervision of a major portion of the fieldwork performed by the company and our subcontractors. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience working in construction and has the desire to learn and grow within a superintendent role.The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855.

We believe our employees to be our most valuable asset, and we are committed to growing a diverse and inclusive culture that inspires, motivates, and continuously improves.What You'll Do:Develop and update the project scheduleReview purchase orders and subcontracts to understand and administer the scopeCollaborate with Superintendents to forecast labor needsConduct preconstruction meetings with appropriate subcontractors prior to their start in the fieldEnsure the project is in accordance with safety standards, plans, schedule, and specificationsUpdate project schedules and prepare two-week look ahead schedulesAssist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractorsCoordinate the work of the subcontractors' field forcesCommunicate effectively with owners, designers, and engineersMaintain accurate cost reportsProvide leadership and mentorship to the teamMaintain project safety in accordance with company's safety policyCreate and maintain positive relationships with employees and stakeholders, both internal and externalWhat We're Looking For:Experience: Industry related degree or coursework preferred3+ years of project construction experience requiredExperience in commercial construction is a plusExperience leading others with a focus on mentoring and developing your teamSkills: Ability to read and interpret construction documentsKnowledge of construction methods and materialsHigh level of initiative and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationDetail-oriented and highly organizedFlexibility to balance competing needsExcellent leadership skillsAbility to build positive relationships across the organizationTechnology: Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to learn specific job-related software upon hireWhat We Offer:Competitive PayRewarding Bonus ProgramComprehensive Benefits Package with Tax-Advantaged HSA and FSA offeringsEmployer-Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability ProgramsEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Provisions401K Retirement Savings Plan with Company MatchTuition ReimbursementFully Paid Parental LeaveVoluntary Products Including: Critical Illness Insurance and Accident InsuranceCorporate Wellness Program with Wellness Time Off and RewardsVisa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.The Company does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or agencies.
