Field Superintendent - Ultra Pure Water

Ultra Pure Water SuperintendentThe Ultra Pure Water Superintendent will report directly to the Project Superintendent and Mechanical/Plumbing Construction Manager. The UPW Superintendent will be responsible for managing the UPW system construction from start to finish, ensuring supervision of the project team, scheduling, quality and providing a safe working environment. The UPW Superintendent will also supervise multiple mechanical subcontractors performing on an extensive fast-tracked scope on a large semiconductor project.

This position will be fully onsite at the project located in Boise, ID.Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 DOE + IncentivesPrincipal Responsibilities:Coordinate day-to-day activities with other superintendents, mechanical field superintendents and mechanical subcontractorsSupervise multiple subcontractors and craft employeesMaintain and adjust project schedule dailyManage and abide by all safety protocolProvide resolution to design and constructability issuesRespond to customer/client requests and/or issues and develop resolution to problems using technical expertiseMust be able to interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with all local authority permitting, codes and site specificationsProvide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates.Facilitate contractor activity ensuring performance by all contractual agreementAssist with management project staffingProvide clear communication verbally, written and electronicallyWork closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractorsEssential Functions:Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is combination of standing, walking, and sittingLegs: Must be able to climb stairs - 50% of dayHands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer useVision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordinationHearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipmentSpeech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radioLift/Carry: Up to 50lbs.- FrequentBending/Twisting: FrequentKneeling/Crouching/Crawling: MinimalConstant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detailMust be able to work independently, make quick and effective decisions, and follow through on all assignments to meet required scheduleMust use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine the best method to accomplish desired resultsMust be able to plan and organize work efficiently for maximum outcomeMust possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have an elevated level of competency to read/write/speak English, interpret construction related documentation and communicate with coworkersQualifications, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrate thorough understanding of all aspects of mechanical wet or dry constructionBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent craft level work experienceEducation background in materials and methods of constructionOHSA 30 CertificationA minimum of 5 years' mechanical construction experienceExtensive experience on large industrial and hi-tech fabrication projects with specific area experience such as Fab, Subfab, Cleanroom, Tool, Jungle Gym, Utility and Process Systems.Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method; familiar with CSI specification system for constructionAbility to work closely with trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential to being able to maintain a cooperative attitude through pressure situationsSkills in handling several work activities at once while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions on work in progressTraining in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniquesHighly developed visual observation and interpretation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to work closely with project owners, architects, engineers, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractorsMust be a dedicated team player, self-starter, flexible and be able to work well with a variety of personalities and minimal instruction.
