The Field Services Technician's primary responsibilities are to perform field analyses, sample pickup, and collecting environmental samples. The Field Services Technician is expected to follow all health and safety protocols and document all sampling activity as outlined in the company standard operating procedures. This position is required to commute to/from client sites to collect samples, pickup samples, and to deliver them to the laboratory.
The Field Services Technician is expected to demonstrate safe defensive driving behavior and maintain a satisfactory driving record.Job functions:Collect soil, water, and wastewater samples from client sites in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines.Travel to mine sites for sample pickup multiple times a week.Coordinate sample drop-offs with Reno laboratorySchedules collection services and travels to client sites using company vehicle.Performs analyses in the field in accordance with standard operating procedures; transports sampling equipment from location to locationDocuments all field sampling activities in a detailed mannerDelivers collected samples back to laboratoryProvides exceptional customer service to internal and external clientsCompletes all required training to perform responsibilities in compliance with regulatory guidelinesAssists Sample Management DepartmentMust be comfortable performing all tasks in inclement weather and temperaturesPerforms courier routes for sample pickup from different client sitesPreps client bottle kitsPackages and ships samples and bottle kitsPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsMust be MSHA certified or gain certification by Dec 2025 (Required)High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)1 year of relevant experience (Required)Experience in an environmental laboratory (Preferred)Advanced English language skills (Required)Strong customer service skills (Required)Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a constant basis (Required)Additional InformationSGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetics, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristics protected by law.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
