Field Services Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking Field Service Engineers to support data center and commercial power distribution projects. Openings are available for both entry-level and experienced engineers.

Locations: Chicago, IL

Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, and commission low- and medium-voltage distribution equipment (480V–38kV).


• Support and resolve punch list and warranty issues at customer sites.


• Diagnose electrical and control circuit issues; provide hands-on service.


• Travel nationally (approx. 80%); extended projects with return home every 3–4 weeks.


• Document service activities and provide feedback for quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Entry-Level: Trade school, apprenticeship, associate degree, or journeyman electrician; training provided.


• Experienced: Field service background with LV/MV distribution equipment.


• Strong communication, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to read schematics and work independently in the field.

Preferred Backgrounds

• Experience with ABB, GE, Eaton, SEL, Schneider, Honeywell, ASCO, Hitachi, Siemens, Shermco, RMS Energy, Regal Rexnord, or NETA testing firms is a plus.
