FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Field Service Technician / Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, product installation, and service to customers both remotely and on-site. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer satisfaction through effective troubleshooting, timely service coordination, and continuous improvement of products and processes.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support to customers via phone and email
  • Perform product installations and service at customer locations
  • Install and test CFE hardware for the SCO product line
  • Conduct site evaluations to assess installation requirements and service needs
  • Assist with trade show installations and de-installations
  • Enter and process service parts orders
  • Dispatch service and/or installation technicians as needed
  • Create and issue service data reports
  • Initiate internal corrective actions and document change requests
  • Manage projects related to installations, service, and customer support
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); trade or vocational school preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components, properties, and testing devices
  • Ability to be on-call after hours for customer support
  • Ability to travel independently and frequently to customer locations
  • Must be able to travel with minimal notice
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field (preferred)
  • Experience using hand and power tools for metal and woodworking
ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR ABILITIES
  • Experience in field service, equipment installation, or technical support environments
  • Familiarity with retail systems or self-checkout (SCO) technology
  • Basic computer and reporting skills
  • Frequent travel required
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment as needed
  • Work in various customer site environments, including retail and industrial settings
