Field Service TechnicianSuccessful candidates are skilled mechanically, and electrically.This position is responsible for electro-mechanical assembly and in process testing/inspection of products in compliance with ISO requirements.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assembly of various types of products such as wiring harnesses, cables, and electronic alarm and monitoring systemsBrings forth creativity in the production processes, adding value to the company's productsResponsible for the completion and accuracy of associated quality and production documentationMay test products during and after the assembly processResponsible for a safe work environment. Each employee must inspect their work area of responsibility on a continual basis and take appropriate steps to rectify any hazardsOther related duties as assignedQualifications:Diploma from a technical institution or equivalent work experience (2-years' experience) is requiredWorking knowledge of wires/cables - Examples include: Preparation of wire, cutting wires to specific lengths, panel assembly, wire striping, wire terminating (installing terminals on ends of wire), and metric measurementsMust have excellent soldering skills for electronic and electrical componentsTraining to IPC/WHMA standard 620C "Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies", is highly desirableMust be able to understand and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and work from these documentsMust be able to effectively use power and non-power hand tools such as a drill press, metal cutting devices, drill, rivet gun, screw driver, tape measure, semi-automatic press/termination tools, ultra-sonic welding, and wire twistExperience with resistance, hi-pot, continuity, and computerized testing using tools such as a DVM/DMM (digital volt meter/digital multi meter)Must be able to measure in both English and metric units and can convert measurementsKnowledge of piston engine functions and design, diesel and gas is highly desirableKnowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is desirableSufficient knowledge of mechanical/structural design, electrical schematics, integrated circuits, electronic components and their functionsAbility to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stressAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, peers, vendors, customers, and the publicAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsOther Requirements:Experience repairing either engines, generators, turbines, motors, or gearsWillingness and ability to travelValid drivers licenseProfessional experience and training on a leading brand of generators or engines (Kohler, Scania, Deutz, CAT, Cummins, Generac, Mitsubishi, Ford, MAN, MTU)
