Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Manage and develop Valway Engineering Services associates.
- Schedule maintenance for process and material handling equipment.
- Analyze downtime events and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain spare part inventory to prevent production disruptions.
- Track and document associate performance (safety, quality, productivity, attendance).
- Oversee labor costs, including training, overtime, and premiums.
- Ensure equipment is maintained by qualified and properly trained associates.
- Develop and maintain training records for direct reports.
- Schedule Valway engineering and maintenance personnel to meet production demands.
- Lead daily team maintenance activities, ensuring equipment meets operating standards.
- Motivate and engage Engineering Services associates and technicians.
- Assist with equipment acquisition and installation, staying within budget.
- Monitor contractor safety program adherence.
- Oversee utility functions and work to reduce utility costs.
- Manage supply cost centers, aiming to reduce supply expenses.
- Ensure equipment meets environmental and regulatory permit requirements.
- Collaborate with the Valway ES Leader on plant facilities maintenance and repairs.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of Engineering Services experience (fabric finishing preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Financial acumen and business sense.
- Supervisory experience and ability to provide constructive feedback.
