Job TitleJob Summary Provide field-based installation, training, demonstrations, and technical support for Ultimate Linings customers. This role ensures proper equipment setup, application execution, and long-term customer success through hands-on support, troubleshooting, and education.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Installation & Customer TrainingLead installation of plural component spray equipmentPrepare customers for installation (booth, power, air, materials)Train customers on:Equipment operation and maintenanceProper coating application per TDS and specificationsSurface preparation requirementsProvide all required technical documentationApplication Demonstrations & TrialsConduct product demonstrations and field trialsPartner with Sales to ensure successful evaluationsCommunicate product performance, chemistry, and advantagesTroubleshooting & Failure AnalysisPerform root cause analysis of coating failuresIdentify issues related to:Application techniqueEquipment setupSurface preparationProvide corrective actions and best practice recommendationsCustomer Support & ServiceProvide ongoing technical support:On-site service and repairsPhone support through UL technical call centerConduct periodic customer visitsDeliver ongoing training on application and equipmentCross-Functional SupportSupport internal teams as needed:SalesProduct DevelopmentGFX LabLine-XQualificationsEducation Minimum Required:High school diploma or equivalentRelevant field experiencePreferred:CertificationsAMPP (SSPC/NACE), PDAExperienceMinimum Required:4+ years in protective coatings, polyurea/polyurethane, or related fieldHands-on experience with plural component spray equipment (Graco preferred)Job Specific SkillsStrong working knowledge of:Polyurea and polyurethane coating systemsSurface preparation standards and impact on coating performanceHands-on experience with:Plural component spray equipment (Graco XP, Reactor, etc.)Spray gun operation, rebuild, and troubleshootingAbility to:Diagnose and resolve field issues related to:Equipment functionMaterial processingApplication techniquePerform root cause analysis on coating failuresTrain customers in both classroom and hands-on environmentsTechnical understanding of:Basic hydraulics and pressure systemsElectrical components and controls in spray equipmentStrong communication skills:Ability to explain complex technical topics to customersProvide clear, actionable guidance in high-pressure situationsOrganizational and work style:Highly detail-orientedAble to manage multiple projects and travel schedulesWorks effectively independently and within a teamPreferred:Certifications:AMPP (SSPC/NACE)PDA or AAMPExperience with:High-pressure coating application in industrial environmentsFailure analysis reporting and documentationFamiliarity with:Industry standards (ASTM, AMPP, SSPC)Coating specifications and inspection methodsCommunication & Working Relationships Internal:Technical ServicesSalesInnovation / R&DExternal:New and existing customers.Working ConditionsFrequent travel (estimated 50–75%)Combination of field and office environmentsExposure to:Industrial coatings (polyurea, primers, solvents)Equipment operation environmentsPhysical requirements:Standing, lifting, and working in shop/field conditionsTravel RequiredYes.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
