This role combines technical expertise with people leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations and Our Values. The Lift Department Supervisor builds strong relationships with teammates and customers while promoting a culture focused on safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
This position coordinates schedules, provides technical guidance, supports technician development, and helps drive operational performance across the department. The supervisor also partners closely with internal teams and customers to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure high-quality service delivery.Lead, coach, and support Lift Technicians in daily service, installation, inspection, and repair activitiesSchedule and coordinate field service work to ensure customer commitments and department goals are achievedProvide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex lift equipment issuesPromote and enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with company safety policies and proceduresBuild strong customer relationships by responding to escalated service concerns and ensuring high levels of customer satisfactionReview customer needs and assist with preparing quotes for repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance servicesMonitor technician productivity, work quality, and completion of service documentationConduct ride-alongs, field observations, and coaching conversations to support teammate development and performanceSupport hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management activities for Lift TechniciansEnsure preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and service timelines are completed accurately and on timeCoordinate tools, parts, equipment, and inventory needed to support field operationsPartner with internal departments to resolve operational issues and improve service processesReview and approve timecards, PTO requests, and department expenses as assignedMaintain compliance with DOT requirements, vehicle maintenance standards, and company driving policiesAssist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, service quality, efficiency, and teammate engagementComplete administrative reporting, service documentation, and other duties as assignedEducation:High School Diploma or GEDCurrent Lift Technician Certification or ability to obtain certificationAssociate degree in a mechanical, technical, or related fieldExperience and/or Training:Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining lift equipmentPrevious experience leading, training, or mentoring technicians in a service or installation environmentExperience working directly with customers in a field service environmentLicense/Certification:Valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to obtain and maintain DOT medical card or health cardAdvanced lift certifications or manufacturer-specific trainingCDL or Class B licenseKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and technical repair skillsStrong leadership, coaching, and team development skillsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to prioritize multiple projects and respond effectively in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with ERP systems, service reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals, service documentation, and technical drawingsCommitment to workplace safety and operational excellenceExperience managing service schedules, labor planning, and field operationsExperience with preventative maintenance programs and service operations metricsFamiliarity with JD Edwards or similar ERP systemsExperience supporting government, fleet, or industrial customersPhysical, Mental, Environmental Demands:Frequent travel to customer locations and job sitesAbility to regularly lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to work in elevated spaces and maneuver around equipment in tight spacesFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout the workdayExposure to varying weather conditions, moderate noise levels, and industrial environmentsAbility to safely operate company vehicles, tools, and material handling equipmentCombination of office, warehouse, and field service work environmentsThe anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $72,800 and $90,000 annually.
