Field Service Technician/EngineerLocation: Based near Ramsey, NJ (Travel ~60%)Position Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician/Engineer with a strong mix of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience to support installation, startup, and maintenance of industrial equipment at customer sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving real-time equipment issues, and interacting directly with customers. An engineering degree is not required—practical, hands-on experience is key.Key Responsibilities:Perform on-site installation, startup, and commissioning of industrial equipmentTroubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems (motors, pumps, VFDs, sensors, etc.)Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawingsSupport preventative maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and system upgradesProvide technical support and training to customers during and after installationDiagnose issues with control systems, wiring, and instrumentation (e.g., 4–20mA signals)Document service activities, findings, and recommendationsRequired Qualifications:3+ years of hands-on field service, maintenance, or technician experienceStrong experience with electrical systems (AC/DC, wiring, motors, VFDs)Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills (pumps, valves, pneumatics, etc.)Ability to read and work from technical drawings and schematicsComfortable using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and test instrumentsWillingness to travel up to 60% (overnight travel required)Preferred Qualifications:Experience with industrial/process equipment (pharma, food, packaging, or similar)Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, or vacuum systemsBasic exposure to PLC systems (troubleshooting only, not programming required)Knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, NEC, NEMA)Why This Role:Highly hands-on, field-based work with diverse equipmentOpportunity to work independently and solve complex technical problemsExposure to a wide range of industrial systems and customer environmentsBenefits PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
