Field Service Technician - Packaging EquipmentMy client is a highly established and well-respected manufacturer and distributor of customized packaging solutions, offering a unique, patented technology within shrink, stretch, tape, and film applications. They provide end-to-end packaging, labeling, and automation solutions to a wide range of industries and are known for an outstanding culture - employees simply don't leave.Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Field Service Engineer/Technician in the New England region, preferably based in CT, RI, or MA. This position requires regional travel (regional to New England only) with an expectation of a maximum of about 8 overnights per month.This is a highly autonomous role responsible for:Handle all installations for The Rapid Bander® which in most cases are fairly simple and quick, but occasionally require metal fabrication - cutting and drilling.Assist with system demonstrations at our demonstration facility and/or at customer sites.Interface with Sales and other Technical Support Team Members to strategize and execute successful sales, demonstration, installation, and after sales support.Fabricate customized apparatus' components for unique system installations.Work with designated stretch wrap system manufacturer to design semi and/or fully automated pallet wrapping lines that can include conveyors and other essential and adjunct processing line components.Install or assist with installation of Tape Machines.Required Background:5+ years of work experience in a hands-on technical/maintenance role.Hands-on experience with stretch wrap systems including equipment demos, installation, and service.Experience working around hydraulics, PLCs and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).

Not programming them, but installation and basic maintenance.Exceptional electrical skills (multimeters, fuses, wiring and cables, powered equipment troubleshooting, etc.)Basic metal working and fabrication skills – cutting, drilling, and fabricating (small parts as needed).Strong experience in equipment installation and after sales service.Comfortable with basic Microsoft Office software and email (for internal company communications).Strong Verbal Communication Skills in one-on-one and group settings.Experience in training client customers on new equipment on-site.Driven and dedicated with a willingness to work hard and put in the extra effort as needed.Ability to work independently with limited supervision and to set and prioritize goals and tasks, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.Able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs. (a heavy roll of film).Valid Driver's License and Proof of Insurance.
