Field Service Engineer
Our client is currently hiring for a Field Service Engineer. This is a 100% remote position that requires approximately 50% travel throughout the United States and occasional travel to Canada. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with robotics, automation systems, electronics, electrical systems, sensors, vision systems, and basic pneumatics. This role supports advanced automated robotic compounding equipment used in pharmacy and healthcare environments.
Pay - $40.00 - $48.00/hour (Depending on years of experience, technical experience, automation experience, troubleshooting expertise, and relevant industry experience)
Location - Remote (Preference for candidates located in the Northeast, East Coast, or Southern United States due to travel requirements)
Schedule - Standard Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)
Contract Length - 12 Months
Responsibilities
• Install and verify automated robotic compounding equipment during implementation projects.
• Coordinate closely with project teams to ensure successful equipment deployment and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate technical and project-related information with implementation project managers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during the transition from installation to production operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on hardware and software issues.
• Execute equipment upgrades, modifications, and system enhancements.
• Investigate complex service cases and identify root causes of technical issues.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive solutions to improve equipment performance.
• Maintain detailed service documentation, reports, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to provide field feedback and recommend product improvements.
• Deliver exceptional customer support throughout installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Travel regularly to customer sites across the United States and Canada.
Qualification Requirements
• Post-secondary technical education in Automation, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with robotics and automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving electronics and electrical systems.
• Experience with sensors, vision systems, and basic pneumatic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair both hardware and software issues.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Strong technical curiosity and motivation to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently while supporting customers in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting healthcare, pharmacy, laboratory, or medical equipment environments.
• Additional experience in electronics, mechanics, maintenance, or electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of Spanish.
• Experience with automated manufacturing, packaging, or robotic systems.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Previous Field Service Engineer or Field Service Technician experience.
• Experience troubleshooting networked or integrated automation equipment.
Disqualifiers
• No hands-on experience with automation, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
• No troubleshooting experience involving electronics or electrical systems.
• Unwillingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Limited customer-facing or field service experience.
• No experience diagnosing hardware or software issues.
• Inability to work independently in a remote field-based environment.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
