Field Service Engineer – PVD Systems (Inline & Cluster Tools)Location: Bay Area, California (preferred)Reports To: Service ManagerTravel: 50–75%, as requiredAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Field Service Engineer to support our physical vapor deposition (PVD) systems, including inline and cluster tool platforms. The ideal candidate will be based in the Bay Area and will play a key role in installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading advanced thin film equipment at customer sites within the U.S.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site service, diagnostics, and repair of inline and cluster PVD systemsSupport system installations, upgrades, and routine maintenanceTrain end-users on system operation and basic troubleshootingCommunicate effectively with customers, internal engineering, and support teamsDocument service work and maintain accurate service recordsTravel as needed to customer sites (typically 50–75%)Required Qualifications5+ years of experience servicing PVD systems or other vacuum-based semiconductor/equipment toolsStrong knowledge of vacuum, electrical, and mechanical systemsExperience with inline or cluster tool configurations preferredComfortable with hands-on, field-based troubleshooting and repairsStrong communication and customer-facing skillsBased in the Bay Area or willing to relocateS. work authorization requiredPreferred BackgroundExperience supporting thin film deposition systems in a manufacturing or R&D settingPrior exposure to solar, semiconductor, or consumer electronics manufacturing environments (e.g., high-volume fabs or precision thin film applications)
