As a Field Service Engineer, you perform the installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of the Bruker S8 Tiger, S8 Lion, S8 Dragon, S2 Ranger, S2 Puma, S2 Kodiak, and other legacy XRF Spectrometers. Ideal candidates will be located near Buffalo, NY, Syracuse, NY, Cleveland, OH, and generally close to a commuter airport.ResponsibilitiesInstall analytical x-ray equipmentAnalyze malfunctioning x-ray equipment and determine corrective action, replace faulty components, and make necessary adjustments and alignmentsPerform preventive maintenance according to written preventative maintenance proceduresPrepare and submits reports covering all job activities with accuracy and detailParticipate in on-the-job training of field service personnel when requiredSuggest methods to offer improvement to equipment performance and functionalityBetween assignments be available during normal working hours for immediate response to reassignment and telephone supportRemain in contact with assigned customers to ensure that there are no unreported problemsPromote and maintain service contracts in assigned regionKeep up-to-date on new product and product changes within his/her required sphere of activity to increase own capabilities and skillsConduct all field assignments according to service department proceduresPerform other tasks as assigned by manager or supervisorTravel to customer locations 75% or higherQualificationsDemonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and repair complex equipment problems in a minimum amount of timeAbility to communicate effectively in a professional manner with both internal and external customersExcellent customer relations skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisionsFamiliarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipmentFamiliarity with the use of personal computersAbility to travel extensively by air and car both domestically and internationally if neededAA degree in electronics or equivalent experienceMilitary training in advanced electronics preferred but not requiredThree (3) years previous service experience installing and repairing complex electronic systemsAt Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $63,900 and $113,500 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
