What You'd Be Doing:
You would travel to customers' manufacturing facilities—about 80% of the time —to install, start up, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and optimize plastic-processing equipment, injection molding equipment .

Day-to-day work
A Typical Job Could Involve:
- Going to a customer's plant
- Diagnosing why a machine isn't working correctly
- Reading electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Testing electrical components with a multimeter
- Working on motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
- Using basic PLC knowledge to troubleshoot controls
- Installing or commissioning new machinery
- Training the customer's operators/maintenance staff
- Documenting what you repaired, how long it took, costs, and additional problems discovered
- Occasionally helping newer service employees learn the equipment
