Job Full Description
Field Service Controls Technician
Location : West Chester, OH
Pay : $32-$36/hr+
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of experience in field service, quality control, or technical support with PLC exposure
Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic, HMI databases, electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and O&M manuals
Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI systems, including basic programming and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including VFDs, chillers, boilers, and BAS integrations
Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% (including overnight travel)
Effective communication skills for working with customers, vendors, and internal teams
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve field issues independently

Responsibilities:

Perform pre-startup activities including system checks, component testing, and PLC/HMI I/O validation
Lead equipment startup and commissioning at customer sites, ensuring proper system operation, sequencing, and communication between components
Identify, document, and help resolve system issues, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors as needed
Make minor PLC and HMI program adjustments to support system functionality and performance
Train customer personnel on system operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs
Complete detailed service reports, upload project documentation, and support project closeout activities
Assist with in-house quality control, final assembly testing, and provide remote technical support to customers as needed
