Make an impact at Tecan as a Sales Engineer, Liquid Handling, where you will play a critical role in driving growth across the Northeast territory.In this role, you will be responsible for selling Tecan's liquid handling portfolio — including capital equipment, reagents, consumables, and service contracts — while partnering closely with customers in life sciences, biotech, academic, and government research environments. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers translate complex application needs into innovative automation solutions.If you are a consultative sales professional with a strong technical background in laboratory automation and a passion for customer success, we invite you to bring your expertise to our team.How Will You Make an Impact?Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, lead generation, qualification, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations, closing, installation coordination, and post-sale supportAchieve or exceed assigned sales, growth, and financial targets for the Midwest territoryDevelop and execute strategic account plans to grow new and existing businessServe as a trusted technical advisor, translating customer workflows into tailored liquid handling solutionsConduct product demonstrations and workflow-based presentations for scientific and procurement stakeholdersBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, including researchers, lab managers, and procurement teamsMaintain accurate forecasting and CRM data to support business planningSupport installations, training, and ongoing customer adoption of Tecan solutionsPartner with Service, Applications, and Technical Support teams to ensure customer satisfactionParticipate in regional and national trade shows, conferences, and customer eventsIdentify and communicate market trends, competitive activity, and new application opportunitiesCollaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure long-term account successEnsure compliance with all regulatory, company, and safety requirementsTravel within the assigned territory as required, up to 50% overnight travel, including short-notice travel when necessaryWhat You BringStrong ability to manage and grow a technical sales territory in a capital equipment environmentDeep understanding of consultative and solution-based selling approachesExcellent communication skills with ability to present technical and non-technical concepts clearlyStrong presentation and customer-facing skills with scientific and procurement audiencesProven ability to manage complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholdersStrong organizational and time management skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently in a remote, field-based roleHigh level of adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving abilityStrong collaboration skills with internal teams and external partnersAbility to work well under pressure and manage competing prioritiesYour BackgroundBachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field required3+ years of sales experience in capital equipment within the life sciences industryExperience with liquid handling systems, laboratory automation, or microplate instrumentation strongly preferredDemonstrated success in territory management and technical sales environmentsStrong proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularlyNice to HaveExperience in laboratory automation or high-throughput screening environmentsFamiliarity with academic, biotech, or government research marketsExperience supporting product demonstrations and on-site customer trainingBackground working with procurement and institutional purchasing processesExperience with trade shows, scientific conferences, or field marketing supportStrong analytical or data-driven sales forecasting skillsWhat We OfferMedical, Dental, and Vision coverage401(k) employer match on first 6% contributions (no vesting period)Company-paid Life InsuranceShort- and Long-Term Disability coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Accident, Critical Illness & Hospital Indemnity insuranceLegal Shield / Identity ShieldDiscounted Pet InsuranceSalary range: $100K– $125K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with industry data.)
