Field Process EngineerThe Field Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing manufacturing or equipment processes at customer or production sites. This role combines technical expertise in process engineering with hands-on field support, ensuring process stability, performance, and customer satisfaction. The Field Process Engineer works closely with customers, field service teams, and internal engineering groups to troubleshoot issues, improve yields, and support new product or process implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Support & OptimizationProvide on-site and remote support for manufacturing or equipment processesAnalyze process performance and identify opportunities for yield improvement and efficiency gainsTroubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actionsOptimize process parameters to achieve performance, quality, and throughput targetsCustomer & Field SupportServe as the primary technical contact for customers on process-related issuesSupport installation, qualification, and ramp-up of equipment or processes at customer sitesTrain customers and field teams on process operation and best practicesRespond to process-related escalations and ensure timely resolutionData Analysis & ReportingCollect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesDevelop reports and present findings to internal teams and customersUse statistical tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, DOE) to drive improvementsNew Product Introduction (NPI)Support process development and qualification for new products or technologiesCollaborate with R&D and product engineering teams on process readinessEnsure smooth transition from development to productionCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Field Service, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teamsProvide feedback to engineering teams on product and process improvementsSupport root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for field issuesContinuous ImprovementDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process performance and reliabilityIdentify and implement best practices across customer sites or facilitiesSupport standardization of processes and documentationQualifications RequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or related field)3–7+ years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing environmentsStrong knowledge of process optimization, troubleshooting, and data analysisWillingness and ability to travel frequently (often 30–70% or more)PreferredExperience in semiconductor, equipment manufacturing, or high-tech industriesFamiliarity with statistical methods (SPC, DOE, Six Sigma)Experience with customer-facing roles or field supportKnowledge of manufacturing tools, automation systems, or process controlSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHands-on technical expertise and troubleshooting abilityCustomer-focused mindset and communication skillsAbility to work independently in field environmentsData-driven decision-makingAdaptability and ability to work in dynamic environmentsCross-functional collaboration and influencing skills
