Field Operations SpecialistParqEx is looking for a smart, reliable, and hands-on Field Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Chicago. In this hybrid, entry-level role, you'll be on the front lines of deploying and supporting our smart parking technology—blending fieldwork, light tech troubleshooting, customer interaction, and operations coordination.If you're organized, tech-savvy, and thrive in dynamic environments, this is an opportunity to grow your skills while helping modernize real estate with cutting-edge solutions.What You'll DoPre-Sales & Site SurveysConduct on-site or remote surveys to gather data on gates, garages, or access pointsIdentify required IoT devices, signage, and control systemsCapture detailed site measurements, tech specs, and photos for project planningInstallation OversightCoordinate on-site installations with vendors, techs, and electriciansMount and wire small IoT hardware (low-voltage, dry contact wiring, etc.)Follow install guides and technical diagrams with precisionPost-Install Setup & TestingTest device functionality and confirm proper installation with the support teamDocument all installs, flag any issues, and provide visual verification (photos, notes)Capture signage placement and access system updatesCustomer & Internal CoordinationAct as the on-site liaison for property managers during deploymentsAssist with signage logistics, enforcement setup, and schedulingSupport internal teams (support, sales, product) with field-based tasksEscalation & On-Call Support (Occasional/Optional)Be available (occasionally) for off-hours support for escalations or field emergenciesTroubleshoot hardware issues either remotely or in the fieldWhat We're Looking ForRequiredReliable transportation and valid driver's license (travel within Chicagoland)Comfortable with hand tools (e.g., drill, screwdriver, wire stripper)Tech-literate: can follow diagrams, scan QR codes, understand basic wiringStrong communicator and collaboratorCalm under pressure and resourceful in the fieldDetail-oriented with good documentation habits (photos, notes, checklists)Nice to HaveExperience with low-voltage wiring, networking, or IoT/smart device installationsPrevious roles in field tech, property management, facilities, or security systemsFamiliarity with mobile/web apps for documentation or coordinationWork Style & ScheduleFlexible hours depending on installation scheduleHybrid: remote coordination, in-office prep, and on-site workOccasional evening or weekend availability for planned or urgent installsCompensation & PerksCompetitive hourly or salaried compensation (based on experience)Mileage reimbursement for travelAll tools and training providedClear path to grow into full-time ops or project management rolesReady to make a real-world impact with innovative tech?
