Field Based Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Responsibilities

• Execute external engagement strategy aligned to the therapeutic portfolio and implement the external engagement plan aligned to therapy area strategies.
• Identify External Experts, professional groups, decision makers, and other key stakeholders in the assigned therapy area and/or geography.
• Respond compliantly to unsolicited information requests from healthcare professionals regarding licensed or unlicensed GSK medicines and indications; provide factual, fair, balanced, scientifically rigorous responses in line with GSK standards and local codes/laws.
• Disseminate safety information as directed (e.g., Medical Affairs/R&D; DHPL process); conduct scientific exchange to inform/educate HCPs; deliver scientific/pipeline presentations to formulary committees and HCPs per documented unsolicited requests.
• Maintain expertise in evolving scientific/therapeutic areas and competitor medicines/vaccines.
• Attend and contribute to medical portions of regional account planning/training (if required).
• Attend national and regional scientific/medical meetings to capture medical voice of customer.
• Support clinical development activities and programs, including GSK and investigator-sponsored studies; collaborate with R&D to improve site performance; provide insight into GSK research interests.
• Conduct discussions/meetings with steering committees, advisory boards, consultants, etc.
• Provide scientific training for GSK sales representatives and training for HCPs/speaker events.
• Partner with matrix colleagues (e.g., sales, marketing, market access) to ensure patient- and business-focused strategies.

Basic Qualifications

• Pharm.D or Ph.D (DNP or MD with medical/clinical focus).
• 2+ years' experience in human pharmacology/pharmacotherapy with practical clinical application.
• Must live within the specified territory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-doctoral clinical/pharmaceutical practice residency.
• Pharmaceutical industry or medical liaison experience (therapeutic area experience preferred); may qualify for Sr. MSL.
• Clinical experience with decision‑making authority for patient care.
• Above-average computer literacy/software experience.
