Your MissionTransform plans into precise structures. From first pick to final weld, you'll help erect, align, and secure steel with accuracy and care.
Core Responsibilities- Champion a 100% safety culture on every task and lift.
- Decipher drawings/specs; plan and execute fabrication, installation, and repair of structural and miscellaneous steel.
- Prepare steel surfaces: remove rust, degraded sections, and obsolete fasteners using needle guns, rivet busters, and torches.
- Apply protective coatings; paint finished members by brush or spray.
- Operate tools essential to ironwork-impact wrenches, drills, spud wrenches, and other pneumatic/electric/hand tools.
- Work confidently at heights of 50+ feet on structures and scaffolding.
- Cut members with an oxy acetylene torch to exact measurements.
- Measure, align, and square members to meet project tolerances.
- Assemble and bolt columns, beams, and girders per plans or supervisor direction.
- Verify plumb/level using plumb bobs, lasers, and levels.
- Hoist and set steel using cranes or hoisting equipment.
- Temporary fit up for final bolting/welding; fabricate temporary frames, columns, and beams as needed.
- Bring steel into final position with turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
- Cut, bend, and grind using shears, torches, and grinders.
- Maintain active welding certifications (1G, 2G, 3G, & 4G) and perform high quality welds.
- Rig safely: assemble cables, pulleys, hooks, and related components.
- Drive drift pins to align holes and secure connections.
- Current 1G-4G welding credentials (required).
- Deep knowledge of structural steel fabrication and field erection.
- Proficiency reading/interpreting blueprints and specifications.
- Experience working at height and around heavy equipment.
- Bring your own trade tools: belts, bags, pins, spud wrenches, drift pins, welding hood, etc.
- Consistent attendance and compliance with company policies.
- Field work both at grade and up to 50+ feet.
- Industrial settings with noise, dust, and weather extremes.
- PPE required; strict safety standards enforced.
Applicants must pass a stick welding test using 7018 on a 1" beveled plate with a backing strip in the vertical position.
